THANKSGIVING

An Attitude of the Heart,  (Conclusion)

Thanksgiving is the Power that causes the Almighty God to grant us special favors.  As we give Him thanks He manifests His glory and performs Signs and Wonders in our lives.  Many are healed, delivered, set free and enjoy great blessings of God through the giving of thanks from the heart.

I know that our country just celebrated Thanksgiving last Thursday as a nation, and we are very grateful for that.  However, if we are not careful we would allow the media and businesses to get our minds off of Thanksgiving and on to shopping for Christmas (take note, they don’t say Christmas as frequent as they use to  anymore; they say “Holiday Season”).   Don’t get me wrong, Christmas is important, but don’t lose the revelation that we received last Sunday when we ministered on the “Power of Thanksgiving.”

As I conclude this article, let’s read some of the Scriptures on this subject one more time.

PSALMS 95: 2

2 Let us come before His presence WITH THANKSGIVING, and make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms.

PSALMS 100:4

4 Enter into His gates WITH THANKSGIVING, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.

… giving thanks to God and praising Him changes your outlook and improves your faith.

Never in my entire life have I dreamed that I would be serving God in full time ministry as I do today.  I knew there was a call of God on my life and that I would enter the ministry.

But I never dreamed that I would have the privilege of serving in a Church such as the Church of the Firstborn, or that I would have the opportunity to preach the gospel in various places around the world.

Certainly, I’ve had my share of disappointments, (I’ve learned to look at them as God’s appointment) heartache and hardships.  I went through very trying times while overseas and in the United States.  I’ve experienced what it feels like to lose close loved ones. But I am so thankful that God strengthened me, and gave me a wonderful wife (Elder Carolyn), as the apostle Paul says it in the letter to the Church at Philippi, “The Lord gave me someone that is like minded, and a great help in the ministry.”

We all have much to be thankful for.  We need to learn to “enter His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.”  (PSALMS 100:4)

We should not take our blessings for granted.  I thank God that I can breathe clearly.  I thank God I can stand on my own two feet.  I thank God I can raise my voice and shout at the top of my lungs.  “Thank you Lord!”

Actually, the Bible tells us to give thanks to God in everything, whether the times are good or whether we are going through a test or a trial.

1 THESSALONIANS 5:18

18 IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS: FOR THIS IS THE WILL OF GOD CONCERNING YOU.

Word for Today: A Great Attitude

Your attitude is either your greatest asset or your greatest liability.  I have been teaching on the subject, “Thanksgiving an Attitude of the Heart.”  I am sure you have heard the term “Attitude Determines Altitude.”  When God’s People practices the attitude of Thanksgiving He blesses them with His goodness and favor.
