Anointing for Service And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. Isaiah 10:27
Today I want to teach on the anointing. The anointing is a divine enabling. It is an outflow of the Holy Spirit through a human vessel. There is a difference between the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the anointing. The baptism is just the beginning of the race, it is like an initiation into spiritual depth. It is different from being anointed. Initiation brings about identification. It is in the course of identification that we receive an outflow a higher dimension of the Holy Spirit. The anointing is likened to rain, Zechariah 10:1. The anointing is very important in a believer's life. Every believer requires it for sustenance, performance, success, breakthrough and fulfillment. Nothing gets accomplished without it. It is an absolute necessity for fruitful Christian living. How much breakthroughs you experience in life is determined by the level of the anointing of the Holy Spirit upon your life. The anointing of God on my life will only increase as a result of use.
1 John 2:20,27 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
What is the Anointing? It is the empowering of the Spirit of God for supernatural accomplishments. It is the Holy Spirit at work in a us, producing extraordinary results. The anointing is God's device for equipping the believer to do exploits. The life of Jesus was ordinary until He turned 30 years of age. Then He was baptized by John the Baptist and the plan of destiny was unfolded. The Holy Spirit descended on Him and equipped Him by supernatural accomplishments.
Luke 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, After being filled with the Holy Spirit Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, but before He could excel He had to be led into the wilderness. Luke 4:14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. In the synagogue Jesus found the place where it was written and read “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord", Luke 4:18,19. It is clear that the anointing holds the answer to all the questions of humanity.
When the anointing comes:
It binds up the broken hearted Sets the captives free.
Open the prison doors to them that are bound.
Comforts all that mourn.
Replacing their sorrow with joy and their ashes with beauty.
The anointing clothes with the garment of praise instead of the spirit of heaviness.
No matter how long we been saved or coming to church we must seek contact with the anointing or we will live a meaningless life.
