Message: Faith To Be Healed

Faith To Be Healed

And there they preached the gospel.  And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked: The same heard Paul speak: who [Paul] steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had “faith to be healed”, said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet.  And he leaped and walked. Act 14:7-10

The man received faith to be healed from the gospel Paul preached.  Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.  God’s Word is filled with faith because it is filled with God.  Faith is a persistent force, it relies on the ability of God, it knows no defeat, never gets excited, it thrives on a test and faith never argue. Faith has been born by the Word of God and it knows what God has said.  It accepts God’s Word as final.  Faith is never overpowered, it is invincible, and it is irresistible.  Natural senses have nothing to do with faith.  The natural person walks by the senses, but the spiritual person walk by faith. The worker of faith is the Word of God.  The cripple at Lystra received faith from the Word Paul spoke and he acted upon it.  Until faith is acted upon it is not faith.  Jesus ask the blind men “believe ye that I am able to do this?” they wanted to receive their sight so Jesus ask them what did they believe?  In other words, if you believe or if you have faith to receive it you will be healed.  They answered Jesus with “yea Lord” and what did Jesus say?  “According to your faith be it unto you” Matt 9:28-31.

The Apostle James said “faith without works is dead” or faith without corresponding action is dead.  Then he goes on to give an example of faith in action in James 2:17-26.  Faith is possible only to us who live in the spiritual world. Also faith is of the spirit, Jesus brings us into contact with spiritual things.  Healing is spiritual it begin on the inside.  Faith calls those things which be not as though they were.  When prayer is made immediately healing begins.  Medical science heals from the inside out; if medicine is prescribed we have to swallow it and it works through the body.  Everyone taking medicine believes it will work and heal the ailing body, also the expectations are high and are looking for immediate results.  With faith we can began to confess what the Word says because we are healed by the stripes of Jesus but with medicine we have to wait and see.  The Word of God cannot lie, whether we feel like it or not it is true.  By His Stripes we are healed and the prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. James 5:15.

My dear reader I want to encourage you to grow your faith and live in health.  Your faith will keep you well in Jesus Name.
