Pastor and Elder Prescod

A Message From Your Pastors

“O Give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for His mercy endureth forever” (Psalms 107:1 KJV).

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

We give God thanks, and we give Him all the glory, honor, and praise for “Ten Great Years” in ministry

Precious Saints of God, we are living in exciting times.  Elder Prescod and I are very thankful to our Heavenly Father as we reflect on how He began the Church of the Firstborn, SA.

On October 24, 2001 while in prayer during my morning devotion, the Lord told me very clearly that He had chosen us to go forth and launch this ministry.  I said to the Lord, “I will go, but you need to inform Elder Prescod.”  I kept this visitation to myself.  The Lord was so gracious to me; He did exactly what I asked Him to do.  On Saturday, October 27, 2001, the Lord Himself gave Elder Prescod the same instructions He gave me.

We started this ministry on November 4, 2001 with three members: my wife Carolyn, my step-daughter Ede and myself. Now, there are so many more the Lord has brought into this ministry.  It reminds me of a familiar Scripture which says, “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase” (Job 8:7).

We are so thankful for the mission God has given this Church.  He has commissioned us to preach the gospel, teach His people faith by precept and examples, pray the prayer of faith, heal the sick, feed the lambs, feed the sheep, establish a vibrant missions program, provide faith-based Biblical counseling, and have an environment so that believers can grow up spiritually.

Over the past ten years, we have literally ministered to hundreds if not thousands of people. They came from every direction.  They came from the (North, South, East, and West) of our community. We have ministered in Bexar County Jail, Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center, Rehabilitation Centers, Nursing Homes, and Retirement Homes, through Evangelism in our neighborhood, on the Radio and on the Internet.

Hundreds of people of all age groups (adults, youth and children) have given their hearts to the Lord at our altar, and wherever we ministered.  Countless others have received divine healing in this ministry.

We are very thankful for the past, and the present, but we look forward to the future with great expectation and excitement.  I am confident that the Lord will use the Ministry of Evangelism to bring increase to this ministry.  Look at what Jesus said about this key point: “And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled” (Luke 14:23).  It is me and Elder Prescod’s desire that this house be filled.  And the Lord will do it!

In conclusion, it is our prayer that we remain faithful and steadfast in the things of the Lord.  Let us go forward and take possession of all that God has promised us.  We thank God for Ten Great Years in Ministry.  Let’s continue to “…Have faith in God.”
