Everyone wants to be a success. Here are three simple yet Powerful rules that will help you Live a successful Christian Life.
Many people ask, ‘What is the secret to a successful Christian Life?” In this article I want to share with you three Biblical rules that will help any Christian become a success.
First if you are going to be a success in your Christian life, you must learn to forgive. It’s amazing how people’s thinking on the subject of forgiveness is twisted. It’s twisted because either they don’t know what God’s Word says about forgiveness or they know what His Word says but they aren’t doers of the Word.
Faith won’t work where there is an air of unforgiveness about you. But I’ve seen when people get straighten out along this line, they immediately get healed. Psalms 103: 1-5 will shed some light on the fact that forgiveness of sin and healing are included in our redemption.
O course, you must forgive other people. Matthew 18:21 through 35 teaches that we must forgive others, and many people emphasize that point. But you must also learn to forgive yourself.
Now, let’s look at the Scripture in Matthew 18: 21. Do you remember when Peter asked Jesus, “How oft shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Till seven times?” And He said to Peter, “Not till seven times, but till seventy times seven.”
In Luke Chapter 17, we read Luke’s account of this conversation that Jesus had with Peter. Verse 4 says, “And if he trespasses against thee seven times IN A DAY, and seven times IN A DAY turn again to thee saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.”
Now in Matthew’s account Jesus said we are to forgive one person not seven times seven, but seventy time seven. Doing the math, seven multiply by seventy equals four hundred and ninety. If we read Matthew 18:21 and Luke 17:4 together, Jesus says for us to forgive each person up to four hundred and ninety times in one day!
I am sure all of us will many opportunities during the course of one day to forgive someone. If you have not been practicing forgiveness according to Jesus’ teachings, you need to start today. It might be a challenge at first, but when you way the benefits you will find it easier to practice forgiveness this way. Remember what the Apostle said in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
If you are going to be a successful Christian, you not only have to forgive others, you also have to be willing to forgive yourself. Sometimes it may be harder to forgive yourself than it is to forgive other people. But it is unscriptural to have unforgiveness toward anyone – including you. Don’t allow the devil to keep you under condemnation, rise and practice forgiveness as Christ forgiven you, and you will rise up into the realm of success.
Word for Today: Vision 2
Do you have a “Vision?” I hope so, because it’s vital to your overall success and achievement in life. Fred Pryor said, “Vision” is the process that allows you to think ahead to where you want to be and to create a workable plan to lead you there. Proverbs 29:18 says: “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
