According to Genesis chapter one and verse 26: “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness …” Then verse 27 says, “So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him …” It is important from the onset of this article and, it is very clear, that God created Man after His own likeness.
In verse 28 you will notice it says: “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
God clearly stated what he created. He created a Man. This man was made to look like God, to act like God and to rule like God over God’s creation. The identity of man was very clear. It is false and misleading to make this statement: “I am a man in a woman’s body, or I am a woman in a man’s body.” God is not confused. Anyone that makes this statement needs help from God because they have an identity crises.
God made man to be Godly or like God.
Please turn with me to Psalms 8: 4-8.
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet.
God placed upon the man He created a Godlike quality to rule and have dominion. And He placed His glory upon the Godly Man.
The Man that God has created is not only a Godly Man but a Good Man.
According to Exodus 34: 18, Moses said to God, “… I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.” God replied in verse 19, “… I will make all my goodness to pass before thee …” We see here in this scripture that God’s glory is God’s goodness. And God has placed upon the Godly Man His glory which is His Goodness. So therefore the conclusion of the matter is, the Godly Man is a Good Man.
Now, let’s go a little further along this line and read Psalms 112: 5-10.
5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed on trusting in the Lord.
8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.
9 He hath dispersed, he had given to the poor; his righteousness endureth forever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.
10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
I will close part one of this series with Proverbs 13:22:
22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
God bless you! Have a wonderful week and I will continue this subject next week.
