We are Ambassadors for Christ Part 4

We thank the Lord for the revelation He has given us on this wonderful subject "We Are Ambassadors For Christ!" This is a timely message and I believe in my heart that it will bear much fruit in every one of us in the coming days, and weeks and months.

Let's go ahead and read our text for this series one more time, then I will make a couple more points then, I will wrap this series up with the conclusion. 2 Corinthians 5: 20, Now then we are Ambassadors for Christ, as though God beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ stead, be ye reconciled to God.

We concluded the previous segment discussing "as you follow Jesus, He will make you into a mighty instrument for Him." Just as He did it for Peter, He will do it for you. Jesus was able to turn Peter into such a bold preacher that won 3,000 souls to the Lord in one day. He can do the same thing for you.

If you have the desire to be an Ambassador for Christ, there are some things you must do. Let's look at 1Timothy 2: 15, 16. Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Then the Apostle Paul went on to say in verse twenty one of the same chapter: “If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.”

So what I am saying is, if you would like to be used by God as an Ambassador for Christ, there are some important things you must do first. Like becoming a citizen of heaven (New Birth) first then you would be considered for the position of Ambassador.

Now, on the Lord's part, this is how He will begin the process? The same way He began it with His disciples over 2,000 years ago. Matthew 10: 1 tells us that when He was preparing to send them out on their mission to penetrate the darkness of the world with the light of the Gospel, the first thing he did was to call them to Himself.

I don't know where God will call you to go as you do your part to fulfill His mission on this earth, but I know this much. The very first place He will call you to, is fellowship with Him. For it is in His presence you will receive your orders.

It is spending time with Him in worship, prayer and the Word that you will hear His voice and discover his perfect will for you. It is knowing Him that you will receive the power and the plans you need to become a true Ambassador for Christ.

I will close with this statement. Every person plays a vital role. Every one of us is crucial to the fulfillment of the overall mission. Even if we can't see how that's true, we must keep on trusting the Lord, keep your eye on the big picture, and be obedient to do whatever the Holy Spirit leads you to do.

Word of Today: "Take On New Challenges "

Many people aspire promotion but few are willing to step up and do what needs doing.  Those few that do usually rise to positions of leadership. The truth is, influence flows to those willing to shoulder responsibility.  Malcolm Forbes once wrote, “Those who enjoy responsibility usually get it.  Those who merely like exercising authority usually lose it.”  The Book of Proverbs states, “The hand of the diligent will rule.”  I hope you are a person that is willing to take on new challenges.
