Women - Wife - Mother Part 2

Last week I started a lesson on “Woman – Wife – Mother.”  But because of our Mother’s Day celebration and other special events in the Church, I took the liberty to express some meaningful thoughts on those areas.  Now, we are going to pick up where I left off.  If I remember correctly our first lesson dealt with the first character role of the female, that first and most important point was that God formed man, but He skillfully and carefully created the woman.

Now, let’s go on to part II of this timely lesson.  The subject is “A True Wife!”  The Book of Proverbs has much to say about women and men.  Proverbs 18:22 (Amp) says, “He who finds a (true) wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord.”

What is a true wife?  She is a helper, someone who makes herself suitable, adaptable, and completing for her husband.  She can do that because she has done it for her creator.  She’s already had spiritual fellowship and intimacy with Him, so she can flow in it in the natural.

If you’re not a true wife, you won’t be “a good thing.”  You won’t have favor of the Lord because your actions and words will keep your husband from functioning as he should in God’s will.  He will be trying to please you to keep the peace.  He will no longer be following God, he would be following you.  Therefore, he will not obtain favor from the Lord.

Now, let’s look at another scripture, Proverbs 12: 4 (Amp).  The first part of this verse reads:  “A virtuous and worthy wife -

earnest and strong in character – is a crowning joy to her husband…”

Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Biblesays, crown is a primary root word meaning to encircle for attack or protection; especially to compass.  The dictionary definition of crown is “something that imparts splendor, honor, and finish; to bring to a successful conclusion; to culminate” (that means to bring to the highest point.

So according to this scripture, the virtuous wife does several good things for her husband: She causes him to reach the highest point in his life.  She causes him to achieve, accomplish, and obtain the perfect will of God in his life because she continually adapts herself suitable and completing for him, and surrounds him with aid and assistance.

Here is another scripture on the same subject:

Proverbs 19: 14 (Amp) House and riches are the inheritance from fathers, but a wise, understanding, and prudent wife is from the Lord.”

Here is a suggested prayer you can pray for your husband on a daily basis:

Father, I thank you for this day; Your life is within my husband

Because Your life is in Him,  He will flow in

Your will this day.

He will see people in need and be able to reach out and help them.

He will be able to turn his back on those who are jeering at him and giving him

problems.

My husband will walk in success today.

He will be able to speak forth that which You desire, and he will not give room to

the flesh.

Then you begin to intercede for your home:

Father, I thank You that this day my home is perfected. I thank You that my children walk in peace, joy, and love.

Word for Today:  "Positive Expectation"

Millions of people “Expect” to be better off today than they were yesterday.  And they’ll get exactly what they expect.  One of the most powerful truths governing success and achievement is the reality that we get what we “Expect.”  Much of the popular success literature proclaims the power of “Positive Expectation.”  What many people don’t know is that this principle is thoroughly biblical.  In Jeremiah, God talks about giving each of us “an expected end.”  That means that God is fully free to bring good things into our life only when you “Expect” good things.  God’s victorious Word for leaders is “Expectation.” What are you expecting today?
